Write to my Heart Box and eCwik video!

Write to my Heart Trinket Box and eCwik Video Tip

I want to finish out this month’s great sponsors’ products with another item that I will enjoy as well as remember the fun I had making it.

Thank you so much to Unity Stamps for their Birds of a Feather stamp set. I truly will see myself using them again and again! I wish they were even large format 4 to 8 inches and I would be stamping all of my kitchen items with them!

I also want to thank eCraft Diecutable Cardstock from The PaperMill Store for the beautiful array of rich colors. I enjoy the swatch booklet as I can take it with me to select items to match to it for my products. I wish other companies would follow suit.

I also have enjoyed using my eCraft with this project. The medallions cut easily and I loved embossing them. A job for the future eBosser!!!

Right now one of the biggest crazes in textile art is the Gelli Plate. It is a reusable “gelatin” slab used to brayer inks and stamps images on. It can be then used to place images on cloth for further embellishment. Back in the day before the easy days of purchasing supplies easily, we used unflavored gelatin in a pan to make our own “printing” plates. There are a great many online tutorials for making these.

I printed the back and then used on of the elements on a Unity Stamps stamp to create the heart and flourish decoration.  I then used my Prismacolor pencils to shade them in. Next I used my Craftwell’s eCraft die cutting machine to make the medallions, I also used a Sizzix embossing die for the hearts, and also a partial emboss of one of the dies for the Write medallion. I used my Card Stock - eCraft Diecutable Cardstock from The PaperMill Store for the red medallion. I used a paper with a white core to do the other. I then softly sanded the paper to show the white under paper for dramatic effect.

I also used 3L Adhesive 3d tabs for the raised appearance of my medallions.

I will treasure my Heart box! I never make anything just for me and this is it!!!

It is time to not forget you!!  Make something just for you today!!

Please enjoy my Video it is short but sweet and shows more about using the eCraft software!

By the way…..

Happy Mardi Gras!!!

Valentine’s Party Trinket Box and Trinket Necklace!

Happy Valentines’ Day

I am so lucky to have my Challenge day fall on the most loving of all holidays. Valentines’ Day is a day for me to cherish all those that I care for. I love my family and friends and could see them all enjoying a wonderful evening together. I also will love when I can present them with their Valentines’ trinket gift and box.

main

I was so excited when I saw this great trinket box file. I could see all kinds of uses for it. Polly Pocket boxes for my little grand daughter, all kinds of stuff. I love it. You can get it at http://www.creationsbyar.com/ there are many cute designs and very reasonable files there.  You will also see my  heart ribbon necklace. I also love to create one of a kind pieces for my friends. This project was so much fun.

Supplies:

Peek-A-Boo Box Template

Card Stock - eCraft Diecutable Cardstock from The PaperMill Store

“Birds of a Feather” from Unity Stamps

Prismacolor Pencils from JoAnn's Fabrics

Colorbox Ink pad from Hobby Lobby

CraftwellUSA’s eCraft Personal Die Cutting System!

Adhesive  - 3L Adhesive

Sizzix heart embossing folder (wish I had the eBosser)

Shrinky Dink film from JoAnn's Fabrics

Ribbon from Joann’s Fabrics

Zing Heat Tool from CraftySteals (one of my favorites)

Glass Heart Sentiments from Local Dollar Store

I love to make unique items to share. So when this challenge arose I was thinking so hard I almost miss it. The first thing I created was my little box. I was so easy loaded my solid eCraft Diecutable Cardstock and was off.  I used my trusty eCraft to make quick work of cutting out my boxes. I folded them together and very quickly they were done. I am very happy with the design. The little box is designed like the old match boxes. The little drawer slides out and you can put so much inside. I also covered the hole with cellophane. To add to the finish.

I love the heart pattern that I embossed on it.

Next for my necklace, this was so easy to make and again I used my eCraft to cut it out. I used Shrink Dink film to produce the main charm. It shrinks 50 percent of its original size. I love this stuff it cuts so neatly in my eCraft. You cut it first and then take fine sand paper and gently buff it and then stamp it. You can use colored pencils on it, and or markers as well. I opted for stamping and coloring with my prismacolor pencils.

I worked on it till I was satisfied with the color. Next I took my Zing heat gun and watched it shrink. It was so cool. By the way make sure that you put your holes in it before you heat shrink it as it will crack if not. (how do I know this??) When it was cool, I placed jump rings on it and added my beads. I used a beautiful red ribbon to hang it on. I love the way that it turned out. I will be so excited to see my friends’ faces when they open their gift box…

Happy Valentines’ Day to all!

So for my project I decided to give my love some jazzed up goodies for his cooking pleasure! He loves to cook and I am very grateful. So I was totally up for this project.

I purchased the pot holders from DollarTree for just 2.00 WOW! I had the dotted Fat Quarter hanging around.  I quickly fused the Heat ‘N Bond to the back of the fabric and placed in my eCraft for quick cutting. I selected the heart design and was able to double cut it so I would have a heart with a hole in the middle for my design. I also used a free SVG from SVGcuts for my trim piece. I love the khaki and red contrast.I did do my stamping before I ironed the pieces on my holders. I stamped with fabric markers so that it would stay during washing. I even colored them it was so relaxing. I took the trim piece and slide it under the edge of the bias on the mitt. I ironed all on very fast. Now you could have stitched around all of this but I like the look that I have.

I hope that you enjoy my quickie project. It can be used for so much more! Hey we are only limited by our imagination! Get out there and love what you do! Wait till you see what I got you for Valentines’ Day next week!!!
